Quadruple Marker Test :
The quadruple marker test is a prenatal screening tool that assesses the risk of chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome and trisomy 18 during pregnancy. This test measures the levels of four specific markers in the mother's blood, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), estriol, and inhibin A, hence the name "quadruple marker”.
The quadruple marker test helps in providing important information about the overall health of the fetus and aids in making informed decisions regarding further diagnostic testing or interventions.
